On March 6, 2018 our beloved Dad, Grandpa, brother and friend, James T. (Jim) Alexander, Sr. was called by the angels to put aside his earthly work and rest from his labors.
Jim was born in Buie, NC on October 6, 1927 to William L. and Bessie Turlington Alexander. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Geraldine "Jeri" Bradshaw Alexander. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Anne Langis, Edna Poole, Sally Langis and brother William "Bill" Alexander.
He is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Pat) Alexander of Wallace, NC; a son Jim (Jimbo) Alexander, Jr. and wife Sherri of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Brad Alexander and wife Morgan of Wilmington, NC; Jamie Poole and husband Dylan of Dayton, OH and Rebekah Alexander of WIlmington, NC. His grandchildren have been a source of great pride and family devotion for Jim. His family continued to grow in the past year with the addition of two great grandsons, Dylan (D. J.) Poole, Jr. and Thomas Stevens. He is also survived by a sister, Lois Austin of Raeford NC and brothers Tom Alexander of Edmunds, WA and Bob Alexander of Dublin, GA and his much loved friend and companion, Marie Davis of Wallace, NC.
Jim was an active member of Wallace Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of Wallace Masonic Lodge #279. He retired as a supervisor for J. P. Stevens and from Pender County Department of Corrections.
A memorial service will be held at Wallace Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be in the Church Fellowship Hall one hour prior to the service at 1:00 pm. At other times, the family will receive friends at his residence, 505 West Westbrook Street, Wallace. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Masonic Home For Children, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565.

Such a nice, nice man. Mr. Alexander will surely be missed. Seeing him taking a walk on Stevens Street with Marie was always a pleasure.

Mr. Alexander was a very nice man, he used to kid me about calling him Mr, Alexander, instead of Jim... I respected him a lot, he will be missed... Rest in Peace...
