Obituary

Sandra Gayle Usher Bell of Rose Hill, NC, departed this life for her heavenly home in the early morning of Sunday, October 7, 2018 following a lengthy period of illness. Born on November 27, 1963, she was the daughter of the late William Samuel Usher and Betty Faye Rackley Usher. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by a special nephew--Bradley Usher.

Sandra retired from the tax listing division of the Duplin County Tax office. Her hobbies included cross stitching, crocheting, and she also enjoyed experimenting with colors in color book art. Service to her beloved Concord Baptist Church included thirty plus dedicated years as Sunday School secretary and she always had a place in the church choir. Her church work was always done with a willing heart. There was love in her for flowers especially the yellow rose. Love of family was very special to her also, second only to her love of her Lord.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of thirty-four years--Gary Bell; daughters--Melanie Dawn Edwards and husband Steven, Pamela Sue Bell and fiance' Ryan Harrell, all of Rose Hill; brothers--Joey Usher of Turkey, Lee Usher of Magnolia, Jonathan Usher and wife Nicole of Pink Hill; sisters--Susan Lira of Deep Run and Sylvia Hollingsworth and husband Mark of Warsaw; grandchildren--Steven Edwards, Brian Edwards, and Brittany Edwards, all of Rose Hill. There is also a special canine friend in her life named Molly. The Bell family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Gideons International or Concord Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at a visitation on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 6:00 til 8:00 p.m. in the 401 West Main Street chapel of Padgett Funeral and Cremation Services. A service honoring her life will be on Wednesday, October 10 at 3:00 p.m. in Concord Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. The family welcomes visitors at their home or one can share memories and send condolences by selecting "Guestbook" on the Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services website.
