I just learned this morning of Ellis Henry's passing. I would have come to the service if I had known earlier. She was so precious to me. She bought music, spent time teaching it to me and allowed me to sing from the time I was twelve years old. She laid a foundation in me that will last until I die. She meant more to me than I can even say. Bless her, and bless her family. I love you!

Our sympathy to the Townsend family. I had the pleasure of singing in the Wallace UMC choir under Ellis Henry’s direction both times we lived in Wallace/Teachey area. She will will leave a big musical void in the Wallace area.

We have lost one of the most gracious and beautiful of ‘songbirds’ here on earth. Most assureadly she is now singing with the angels! Thinking of the entire Townsend/Williams family during this time. She will be missed.
