Norman Earl Hardison

Norman Earl Hardison of Rose Hill, NC departed his earthly home for his heavenly home on May 30, 2018 while in Fayetteville, NC. He was born on July 5, 1929 in New Hanover County to the late Ephriam Fennell and Eunice Marie Batts Hardison. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by one sister and three brothers.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife—Joyce Jones Hardison; one daughter—Deborah Hardison King and husband J B of Fayetteville, NC; grandson—Jordan Bradley King and wife Anna of Wilson, NC; and great granddaughters—Hadassah, Trinity, and Selah

Mr. Hardison was a “quiet, gentle soul” who was very serious about his spiritual life and attended church at Rose Hill Baptist Church in Rose Hill for many years. Having worked in the church nursery for more than thirty years, he was lovingly called "Papa Norman" or "Uncle Norman" by many kids who continue to call him that as grown-ups. In high school he played basketball and was very dedicated to the sport. After high school he spent three years in the United States Army. In younger life he was an accomplished fisherman and more recently was a TV fan who liked travelling in the mountains of North Carolina.

A memorial celebration of Mr. Norman’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Rose Hill Baptist Church. Family will greet friends at 12:30 p.m. before the service and at the home on 110 Canal Street, Rose Hill at other times. Family asks that, rather than flowers, contributions be made in his memory to the Rose Hill Baptist Church elevator fund.
