Mr. Richard Leslie Piner of Wallace, North Carolina passed from his earthly life on Friday, March 30, 2018 while at home. He was born in Pender County on March 25, 1926 to Leslie Piner and Gladys Inez Wheeler Piner. In addition to his parents, Mr. Piner was predeceased by his sister Evelyn Norris and his grandson Jason Figliuolo
Surviving are his son Allen Piner, Sr. and his wife Katherine of Wallace; his daughter Janet Figliuolo of Beulaville; grandchildren Allen Piner, Jr. and his wife Marybelle of Wallace, Christopher Piner of Tennessee, Kevin Earl Piner of Georgia, and Richard Piner of Leland; his sisters Ruth Jarman of Wallace and Dot Hicks of Pendelea. He also leaves behind his four loving canine companions Sparky, Snowball, Snuffy and Trip.
Mr. Piner was an avid hunter and fresh water fisherman. He spent a great of time in raising his "special" chickens, in which he took much pride. There was a special bond between Mr. Piner and his children, his grandchildren, and his sisters. He had a great love for everyone in his family and they feel the same about him.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at Riverview Memorial Cemetery in Watha on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
