Teresa Gail Matthews Lee of Wallace, North Carolina departed her earthly life for her eternal life on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 while at Vidant Hospital in Greenville. She was born on September 24, 1958 to the late David Hugh Mathews and Hilda Walker Matthews of Wallace. She is also predeceased by her grandmother--Nettie Sutton; siblings--Frances Garriss, Larry Matthews, and David Carroll Matthews.
Surviving are brother--Jimmy "Turkey" Matthews and his wife Judy of Teachey; sister--Ann Piner of Topsail Beach; aunts--Lillian Patrick and husband Billy of LaGrange, N.C., Peggy Sasser of LaGrange, N.C. and Lila Ruth Parker of Clinton, N.C.; nieces--Kathy Houston of Wallace, Kay Powell King and husband Jeff of Clinton, Lynn Powell of Watha, Tammy Smith and husband Stacey of Rose Hill; nephews--Terry "Buddy" Jones of Wallace, Bobby "Bo" Powell of Clinton, Michael Piner of Rose Hill, Jimmy Matthews, Jr. and wife Lana of Chinquapin.
Teresa grew up in Duplin County and was one of six children. She had a tremendous love for her church--The Wallace First Assembly of God in Wallace, N.C. In her years on earth, she accumulated a great many friends in many places due to her wonderful personality and treatment of others she encountered daily. She enjoyed all kinds of activities especially those which took place outside. Fishing was first and foremost among these outside activities. There was extreme pleasure for her in things most of us take for granted such as going to work and riding in an automobile.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Wallace First Assembly of God. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Riverview Memorial Cemetery in Watha.

Theresa loved the Lord Jesus with all of her heart and she would tell you so. Being with her was like going to a revival. Praise the Lord she is with Him now.
