Mr. Montie Gue Swinson, Jr. of Gaston, North Carolina, passed from his earthly life to his eternal life on Monday morning, December 18, 2017. At the time, he was a resident of the Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice in Greenville, North Carolina. He was born in Jones County to the late M.G. and Lily Leora Marshburn Swinson and was also predeceased by a sister, Lillian Foy and a brother, Marvin Swinson.
He is survived by his children; Tammy Swinson Quinn of Willard and James Montague "Bo" Swinson and his wife Suzanne of Beaver Dam, Virginia--grandchildren; Brandy Swinson Lanier and her husband Adrian of Wallace, Ronnie Jasper "Wez" Quinn, Jr. of Burgaw, Austin Swinson of Beaver Dam, Virginia, McKenzie Swinson of Beaver Dam, Virginia--great grandchildren; Randyn, Carissa, Faythlyn, Sebastian, and Fallon--sisters; Bernice Herring and her husband Benjamin of Tabor City, Ann Wallace Gurganus and her husband Hedren of Rose Hill, Darlene Teachy and her husband Calvin of Jacksonville, NC, Pattisue Price and her husband Tim of Wilmington--brothers; Eddie Russell Swinson and his wife Betty of Maple Hill, Jimmy Swinson and his wife Relva of Wallace, Ronnie Swinson and his wife Julie of Wendell.
Montie grew up in a very large extended family in the Onslow County area and there was a great deal of love for his immediate family. He was an excellent brick mason who took much pride in his work and it always showed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Coles Chapel Holiness Church, 464 Ludie Brown Road, Chinquapin, North Carolina.
