Mrs. Bowen was a faithful member of the Wells Chapel Baptist Church where she attended religious services for many years and assisted in most functions of the church especially in serving food. In her quiet way, she touched many lives in her church and Harrells community and in the Wallace community where she worked with her mother for many years at Johnson Furniture Company. In her early years, she worked in the Sampson County Register of Deeds and for attorney Harry Lee in Clinton. She felt an intense bond with her grandchildren, Lauren and Addie, who she loved with no end. Until just recently, she took extreme pride in working in her lawn in the Harrells community. When this was finished, she wanted to be at the beach. Many people will truly miss Mrs. Bowen in many ways including her wonderful personality, her quiet smile, and her helpful nature.
