Louise Rackley Stokes



Mrs. Louise Rackley Stokes, age 93 of Wallace, NC, died on May 23, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace, NC conducted by Rev. Sam Sumner, Rev. Tyler Jernigan and Rev. Kevin Haynes. Burial will be at Stokes Family Cemetery on Stokestown Road in Wallace, NC. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Marshburn and husband Arnold of Wallace, NC and Margaret Jones of Harrells, NC, her sons, Melvin Stokes and wife Debbie of Rose Hill, NC and Gerald Stokes and wife Linda of Wallace, NC, eighteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, her brothers, Clarence Rackley, Homer Rackley and Marshall Rackley and her sisters, Evelyn Bass and Helen Raynor.

She was born on October 20, 1923 in Pender County, NC to the late Graham Rackley and Nancy Catherine Raynor. She is also predeceased by her husband, Fred Stokes, her sisters, Mazel English, Mildred Sparks and Ethel Mae Stokes, her brother, Edsel Rackley, her daughter, Dottie Atkinson and her grandchildren, Cliff Marshburn and Kay Stokes.

She was a member of Northeast PFWB Church in Wallace. She was very faithful to her church and loved flowers and quilting. She dearly loved her beloved husband, Fred and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Casket Bearers will be Jeffrey Marshburn, Rodney Jones, Timothy Jones, Douglas Stokes, Andrew Atkinson and Jason Stokes.
